DISASTER MANAGEMENT

Various Information Technology currently provide various hardware and software that can be used for Disaster Management activities. Netwrok Communication expansion, developed on line application, the availability of data spasial, remote sensing equipments and identification of natural disaster could be sinergize into Disaster Management Information system that will be enable to help Disaster Recovery activities.

A Correct well prepared Disaster Management System should be able to provide a fast and acurate information. The emergency response shall work based on these information, the aspect of fast and accurate information shall greatly help the process of the recovery of disaster.

Scope of Works :

To establish an integral disaster management system between BNPB and within sectors and also with the disaster mangement executor in the local areas .
To improve the sectoral disaster mangement information quality .
Develope information dissemination of disaster early warning system. The information of potential disater shall be obtained from BMG and shall be forwarded to the regional disaster management executes through internal BNPB network and sms media .
Develope online application reporting from the sectoral to establish the database of resources of disaster.
Develope online reporting disaster management action taken for routin reporting and reporting of emergency response situation.
Develope SIG application for disaster information which cover vulnerable disaster areas, mitigation and prepared and emergency response activities

Other important aspect, that are frequently neglected in the Disaster Management is the Early Warning System which is the main role int the Disaster Management Activities. The Early Warning System should have a very seriously attentions, as to be able to operate perfectly, it will cause not only on safety but also on human life.

For this an Early Warning System has been design and established on year 2008 to acomodate system into current available system at Bakornas ( Badan Kordinasi Nasional )
